The role of the Data Privacy Program Coordinator is to 
• co-ordinate activities on a global scale under the organization’s Data Privacy Program (including training) with the Corporate Data Privacy Officer and other information governance leads e.g. data Privacy Coordinators, Regional Managers, IT Administrators, etc and
• to report on the status of activities under the data privacy program to the Corporate Data Privacy Officer
• perform and support in other tasks being assigned by Corporate Data Privacy Officer

More specifically the Data Privacy Program Coordinator should:

• Ensure that activities under the Data Privacy Program are performed accurately and complete in a timely manner; incl. administering the inventory of personal data holdings of the organization and ensuring participation in privacy training programs

• Highlight risk areas in the status of the Data Privacy Program’s activities to the Corporate Data Privacy Officer

• Process, co-ordinate and respond to requests for information on the Data Privacy Program

• Undertake compliance audits in accordance with the tools provided by the Corporate Data Privacy Officer and ensuring remediation of findings

• Assist with investigations into complaints about breaches of the act and undertake reporting/remedial action as required. Maintain a log of any incidents and remedial recommendations and actions.

• Promote data privacy awareness throughout the organization 

• Ensure that developments in Data Privacy requirements and legislation are tracked

Technical Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years IT experience
  • Project management skills
General Knowledge
  • Fluent in English
  • A good working knowledge of Information Security principles and practices
  • Information Security qualification
  • (Information Systems) auditor qualification
  • Data privacy and computer-related legislation
